Photography Magazine Pf

The Dutch photography magazine Pf published an interview with me about my work. This was on occasion of my book “The Other Farm” winning a Silver Award in the P×3 Prix de la Photographie Paris 2016 competition in the category Professional Documentary Book. If you happen to be able to read Dutch, you might like to check it out here: Or you can just go there to enjoy my photography

Silver Prize in P×3 Prix de la Photographie Paris

The Other Farm has won a Silver Award in the P×3 Prix de la Photographie Paris 2016 competition in the category Professional Documentary Book.

The French P×3 photo competition strives to promote the appreciation of photography, to discover emerging talent, and to introduce photographers from around the world to the artistic community of Paris.

Winning photographs will be published in the P×3 Annual Book of Photography.

The Other Farm is prominently featured on LENSCRATCH, an American daily online journal which explores contemporary photography. Created in 2007, founder and editor Aline Smithson set a goal of writing about a different photographer each day, presenting work in a way that allows for a deeper understanding of a photographer’s intent and vision.

Next to Bernie

In the window of Everyone’s Books in Brattleboro, Vermont, the hometown of Lilac Ridge Farm, my book “The Other Farm” is sharing a shelf with books from and about Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who is running for president of the United States.

Together with Vincent van Gogh

Van Gogh

We will remain for a while in the realm of the Dutch painters. The Dutch daily newspaper “AD Groene Hart,” published an announcement of the exhibition “The Other Farm,” next to an article with the titel “Masters With Influence” and a portrait of my favorite Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh. Not even in my wildest dreams I would have thought that one day I and my work would be mentioned together with Van Gogh on the same newspaper page.

Old Dutch Masters

The “Stadsmuseum,” of the City Museum of Woerden, is in an old, historic building. It dates from the 16th and 17th centuries. It is the former town hall of the small town of Woerden, situated in the mid-west of the Netherlands. In the museum, you can learn about the history of the town and its surroundings. That history dates back to Roman times, when there was a fort, a “castellum,” in Woerden, on the Rhine river, which for a long time was the outermost northern border, the “limes” of the Roman Empire.
